Description Cinderella has no one to help her hang the cobwebs and arrange dead flowers - certainly not her evil stepsisters. But the Halloween Ball is just around the corner. Will Cinderella find happiness at last?
Reviews Customer Booksource Emma Williams, Collection Development Specialist at Booksource Star Star Star Star Star 10/26/2012 9:02:08 AMThis is the classic tale with a twist! Instead of a beautiful damsel, Cinderella is a grotesque skeleton who spends her days streaking windows and hanging cobwebs at her family’s mausoleum in the cemetery. Her evil stepmother and stepsisters make life difficult, and, as the story goes, Cinderella is quite miserable. When an invitation to the Prince’s Halloween ball arrives, Cinderella vows to get to the ball despite the consequences. What follows is the familiar tale, but with some macabre new details— a good witch grants Cinderella’s wishes, a jack-o’-lantern turns into a funeral wagon, and instead of losing a slipper, Cinderella’s whole slippered foot breaks off! This fractured fairytale is a must for Halloween! Its rhyming text and advanced vocabulary make it a great read-aloud for upper elementary. Students will also enjoy comparing and contrasting this unique spin on the classic tale with other Cinderella stories! Icon Post Your Review
