Description Collection 2 texts are designed for early readers ready to tackle slightly more complext spelling patterns than Collection 1 (which contains VC, CVC and digraphs). The first half of Collection 2 begins with blends, starting with words that have 4 phonemes, then moving to words that have 5 phonemes (CCVCC, CCCVC). The second half of Collection 2 introduces words with the silent e spelling pattern (CVCe). As in Collection 1, all the books have engaging storylines with diverse characters, and students who read books from Collection 1 will recognize some of their favorite characters. The Daffodil Hill Collections have been aligned to UFLI Foundations, Wilson Fundations®, Really Great Reading, and Magnetic Reading.
