During the height of the 1980s auto factory closings in Detroit, Vincent Chin, a Chinese American, was murdered by two white auto workers. The brutal killing ignited the Asian community to protest the deep racism that immerged as Japanese car makers flourished and the "rust belt" was created. This is the first book written about Vincent Chin and one of only a few books written about Asian American civil rights.
