Description Manolo Millares was born in the lullaby of the sea of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. As a child, he enjoyed the beauty of the beaches and drew the reefs of his archipelago. As an adult, he became the most transgressive and innovative painter of the Canary Islands. Millares was self-formed, and for that reason his idea of art knew no limits. His paintings became famous for experimenting with ceramics, serigraphy, engravings and etchings, but it was with hessian canvases that he found the best way to express the landscapes of his life, showing the world that opened up before his eyes and telling his own story through art.
