The text is simple and direct, narrating how Jane’s love of the natural world (and her stuffed toy chimp Jubilee) led her to become a famous zoologist and activist. Real photos of Jane Goodall as a child (holding Jubilee) and as an adult (interacting with a real chimpanzee) open and close the book, and the transition between those and McDonnell’s illustrations is both visually and emotionally stunning. Me…Jane is great for units on ecology and conservation, discussions of famous women in science, and as an inspirational read. Icon Post Your Review
